IPINAG-UTOS na rin ng Senate Blue Ribbon Committee ang pagdeteni sa dalawa pang opisyal ng Pharmally Pharmaceutical Corporation sa kabiguang isumite ang mga kinakailangang dokumento sa pagdinig sa kontrobersyal na deal ng gobyerno sa kanilang kumpanya.
Sina Mohit at Twinkle Dargani, kapwa top officials ng Pharmally, ay kinontempt ng mga senador dahil sa pagmamatigas na hindi makipagtulungan sa imbestigasyon.
Si Mohit Dargani ang corporate secretary ng Pharmally habang ang kanyang kapatid na si Twinkle ay treasurer ng kumpanya.
Si Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon ang nanguna sa motion to cite for contempt ang dalawa.
“Obviously, Mr. Dargani is refusing to comply with the subpoena. The same thing with Twinkle Dargani. They have legal defenses,” saad ni Drilon.
“I assume when we place them under detention until they comply.. they will refuse and question this in court, let him question it in court. But
I move that Mr. Dargani and Twinkle Dargani be both declared in contempt for refusal to comply with the subpoena for the production of these documents. Let Mr. Mohit Dargani question us in court. We are willing to stand by this,” dagdag pa ng minority leader.
Kinatigan naman ni Senador Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan ang mosyon ni Drilon kaya’t agad itong inaksyunan ni Committee Chairman Richard Gordon.
“Chairman supports it. I don’t think anybody in this committee will object to that. So ordered,” diin ni Gordon.
Una nang iginiit ni Mohit na hindi niya isusumite ang mga dokumento batay sa payo ng kanilang legal counsel.
Kabilang sa hinihinging dokumento sa korporasyon ang kanilang subsidiary ledgers, sales invoices, official receipts at summary list of sales. (DANG SAMSON-GARCIA)
