MATAPOS ang four-day trip sa Estados Unidos, lilipad naman si Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. patungo sa United Kingdom at Indonesia.

Si Pangulong Marcos ay tutungong UK sa May 5 para sa koronasyon ni King Charles III at sa Indonesia sa May 10 para sa kanyang partisipasyon sa 42nd ASEAN Summit.

Inanunsyo ni Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Ma. Teresita Daza na ang First Couple na sina Pangulong Marcos at Unang Ginang Liza Araneta-Marcos ay inimbitahan na dumalo sa King Charles III coronation ceremony sa May 6.

Inimbitahan din ang mga ito na dumalo sa “King’s reception for overseas representatives” sa May 5 sa Buckingham Palace.

“The presence of the President at this momentous and historic event adds to the good will between both the Philippines and United Kingdom and would serve to strengthen and enhance our overall bilateral relations across all areas of cooperation,” ani Daza.

Matapos ang UK trip, lilipad ang Pangulo patungo sa Labuan Bajo, Indonesia para sa regional summit.

Dadalo ang Pangulo sa forum bilang tugon sa imbitasyon ng President of the Republic of Indonesia, His Excellency Joko Widodo.

“The ASEAN summit provides a platform for ASEAN leaders to discuss and exchange views on key regional issues and build consensus on matters of mutual interest and provide policy directions on ASEAN community-building efforts,” ayon sa ulat.

Sa kabilang dako, magpapartisipa rin ang Pangulo sa 15th Brunei Darussalam-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East Asian Growth Area o BIMP-EAGA Summit sa darating na May 11.

Ang BIMP-EAGA Summit ay pamumunuan ni Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim of Malaysia.

Inilatag na ng Department of Foreign Affairs-Office of ASEAN Affairs (DFA-OAA) ang “key issues” na itutulak ni Pangulong Marcos Jr. sa 42nd ASEAN Summit.

Sa pre-departure briefing sa Malakanyang, sinabi ni DFA-OAA Deputy Assistant Secretary Angelito Nayan na kabilang sa “key issues” ang long-term food at energy security, pagsisikap tungo sa economic recovery, paglaban sa transnational crimes, at pag- upgrade sa technical at vocational education at training at iba pa.
