NAPATAY ng mga operatiba ng Philippine National Police Intelligence Group ang kilabot na Abu Sayyaf bomb maker at pinagkakatiwalaang tauhan ng napaslang na si ASG leader Furuji Indama, sa inilunsad na intelligence-driven police operation noong Sabado sa lalawigan ng Basilan.

Ayon kay PNP chief, P/General Guillermo T. Eleazar, napatay sa police operation ang bomb maker na si Aroy Ittot alyas “Oroy,” kilalang miyembro ng Dawlah Islamiyah/ASG at kabilang sa top priority target (TPT) ng PNP-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region.

“During the service of the warrant of arrest, the suspect fired upon the arresting team using his M16 rifle which prompted the operating troops to return fires that eventually led in the neutralization of Oroy,” pahayag ni Gen. Eleazar.

Ayon sa ulat na isinumite kay P/Gen. Eleazar ni PNP-IG director, P/BGen. Warren Ferrer De Leon, sa bisa ng warrant of arrest ay isinagawa ang law enforcement operation sa tulong ng Philippine Army 1st Infantry Division at iba pang police unit, laban sa suspek bandang alas-2:30 noong Sabado ng madaling araw.

Ang suspek ay nahaharap sa kasong murder base sa warrant of arrest na inilabas ni Judge Leo Jay Principe, RTC, 9th Judicial Region, Branch 1, Isabela City, Basilan.

Ang napatay na bomb maker ay sangkot sa iba’t ibang harassment lalo na sa grupo ni Mayor Ibrahim Ballaho ng Mohamad Ajul habang nagsasagawa ng community service.

Sangkot din ito sa roadside bombings at pagsabog ng isang sasakyan sa Lamitan, Basilan. (JESSE KABEL)
