KINONTRA ng dalawang lider ng mababang kapulungan ng Kongreso ang imbestigasyon na ipinatawag ng kanilang mga kasamahan laban sa OCTA Research group dahil sa pagiging alarmist umano ng mga ito.
Ayon kina Deputy Speaker Rufus Rodriguez at Albay Rep. Joey Salceda, hindi sila pabor sa imbestigasyon sa OCTA Research group dahil malaki ang naitutulong ng nasabing grupo upang maunawaan ang sitwasyon ng bansa sa pandemya.
“I am opposing their resolution seeking the investigation of OCTA. Instead of being investigated, this group should be supported, encouraged and requested to continue with their good work and the big help it is giving to our country in fighting this crippling health crisis,” ani Rodriguez.
Magugunita na naghain ng resolusyon ang limang miyembro ng Kamara para imbestigahan ang OCTA Research group dahil nagdudulot umano ng panic ang kanilang mga ipinapahayag sa media hinggil sa sitwasyon ng COVID-19 sa bansa.
Kabilang sa naghain ng House Resolution (HR) 2075 sina Deputy Speakers Bernadette Herrera, Kristine Singson-Meehan, Reps. Sharon Garin, Deputy Minority Leader Stella Luz Quimbo at Quezon City Rep. Jesus “Bong” Suntay.
“There is a public health and public policy need to ensure the safety and security of the population during this pandemic, and that information being distributed is correct and are not irresponsibly and erroneously published,” ayon sa resolusyon ng mga nabanggit na mambabatas.
Subalit, ayon kay Rodriguez, ang warning ng OCTA Research group ay malaking tulong para makapaghanda ang local government officials at maiwasan ang paglala pa ng problema. (BERNARD TAGUINOD)
