HINDI naging balakid sa Bureau of Customs (BOC) ang kabi-kabilang intrigang ipinupukol ng mga senador at kongresista. Katunayan, higit pa sa itinakdang target collection para sa buwan ng Pebrero ang naitala ng kawanihang pinamumunuan ngayon ni Commissioner Bienvenido Rubio.
Sa datos ng Customs Financial Service Office, umabot sa P63.015 bilyon ang kabuuang pondong nalikom ng ahensya para sa buwan ng Pebrero – labis pa ng P1.88B kumpara sa P61.827B February target collection.
Sa pagsusuri ng naturang tanggapan, lumalabas din na mas mataas ng P3.58B ang February collection ng BOC kumpara sa P59.4B na nailata ng kawanihan noong buwan ng Pebrero ng nakaraang taon.
“Year-to-date, our total revenue amounted to P133.380 billion, up by P8.641 billion from its target of P124.738 billion for the first two months of 2023,” ani Rubio sa isang pahayag.
“We will continue to innovate and implement sustainable reforms to boost the Bureau’s collection efficiency, which will contribute to the expansion and recovery of our national economy,” dagdag pa ng BOC chief.
“For this to be possible, we will also prioritize fostering a healthier trade environment through enhanced and modernized mechanisms for efficient trade facilitation and improved Customs operations for all our stakeholders.”
