HINIMOK ni Senador Grace Poe ang Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) na bigyan ng sapat na panahon ang mga micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) na makapaghanda sa mga ipatutupad na lockdown upang maiwasan ang matinding pagkalugi.
Sinabi ni Poe na kadalasang last minute ang nagiging paghahanda ng mga negosyante sa napipintong lockdown dahil sa nahuhuling abiso sa kanila.
“Business owners are not really aware that there’s going to be a lockdown the following day until the very last minute, and they’ve already planned for the entire week especially since the weekend can make or break some businesses. So while they’re in agreement that we should have some sort of a lockdown, a good lead time will be very important,” saad ni Poe.
Una nang inihain ni Poe ang Senate Resolution No. 817 upang busisiin ng Senado ang epekto ng community quarantine protocols sa MSMEs, partikular sa food and beverage industry.
Sa report ng Department of Trade and Industry nasa 10 percent ng MSMEs ang napilitang magsara simula noong Hunyo ng nakalipas na taon at posible pang tumaas sa 16 percent dahil sa Delta variant.
Iginiit ni Poe na dapat magkaroon ng roadmap para sa economic recovery habang ang mga negosyante ayt ginagawa ang kanilang makakaya kasabay ng pagtugon sa safety regulations.
Binigyang-diin pa ng senadora na dapat isama ng IATF sa konsultasyon at pagdedesisyon ang mga MSMEs.
“It is incumbent upon them to be inclusive in their consultations. We don’t have to have 100 people at the table, we just need to have a representative, I don’t think it’s too much to ask to have that,” diin ni Poe. (DANG SAMSON-GARCIA)
