TARGET ng House Leadership na maipasa “in record time” ang mga priority measures ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.
Ayon kay House Majority Leader Martin Romualdez, 26 ang priority measures na binanggit ni Duterte sa kanyang State-of-the-Nation Address (SONA) at ito ang prayoridad ng Kamara.
“In compliance with the Speaker’s directive to hit the ground running, I met House Secretariat officials involved in the committee and plenary deliberations of bills already filed. We discussed ways on how to expedite the approval of pending legislative measures from the committee level to plenary,” pahayag ni Romualdez.
Unang 12 measures ang target ng Kamara at binigyang katiyakan ni Romualdez na sa unang Linggo ng buwan ng Agosto ay maisasalang na ito sa House Plenary deliberations at maaring bago matapos ang buwan ng Agosto o sa unang Linggo ng Setyembre ay maipasa na dito.
Kasama rito ang National Land Act; Department of Disaster Resilience; Coconut Levy Fund; TRABAHO bill; Alcohol taxes; Property valuation; Capital Income Tax; Mandatory ROTC para sa Grades 11 at 12; Government rightsizing bill; Energizing Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises; National Transport Act at Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
“These measures are expected to face easy sailing in the committee deliberations as these were already approved by the House of Representatives in the 17th Congress,”dagdag pa ni Romualdez.
Paliwanag ni Romualdez na alinsunod sa Section 48 ng House rules kapag naipasa na sa Third and final reading ang isang panukala ay nangangailangan na lamang ito ng 1 committee hearing at maaari nang isalang sa botohan.
Sa mga nabanggit ay tanging ang National Transport Act at Nuclear Regulatory Commission ang hindi nabanggit sa 2019 SONA subalit kasama umano ito sa 2018 priority measures ng administrasyon.
