NAGKASUNDO ang gobyerno at ang National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) na irekomenda ang malawakang ceasefire simula sa Lunes matapos magparamdam si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ng posibleng peace talks.

Sa magkatuwang na statement na ibinahagi ni NDFP Chief Political Consultant Joma Sison sa kanyang Facebook page, kapwa nagkasundo ang dalawang partido sa nationwide ceasefire simula Disyembre 23 hanggang Enero 7, 2020.

“During the ceasefire period, the respective armed units and personnel of the Parties shall cease and desist from carrying out offensive military operations against each other,” ayon sa statement.

Kasamang lumagda sa kasunduan sina Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III, government negotiator Hernani Barganza, NDFP Senior Adviser Luis Jalandoni, at NDFP chairperson Fidel Agcoaili.
