SAPAT na ang mga dahilang natuklasan na may kinalaman si Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) Director Nicanor Faeldon sa pagpapalaya sa ilang Chinese drug lords at sa tangkang pagpapalaya kay dating Caluan mayor Antonio Sanchez para sibakin at kasuhan ito sa korte.

Ito ang iginiit ng isang senador kasabay ng panawagan kay Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na tanggalin na sa Bucor si Faeldon na hindi na pinagkakatiwalaan ng taumbayan.

Sinabi ni Senador Risa Hontiveros na base sa naglabasang ulat, si Faeldon ang lumagda sa release order ni Sanchez na may petsang Agosto 20.

“Faeldon looked at the Filipino people square in the face, and lied. That alone is reprehensible enough. But the fact that he effectively coddled an unrepentant convicted rapist and murderer, turned a blind eye to Sanchez’s crimes while he is in prison and lied to the public, is a gross violation of the oath of office that all civil servants take,” sabi ng senador.

Gayundin ang kaso ng pagpapalaya sa mga Chinese drug traffickers sa kabila ng pagtutol ng Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

Giit ng senador, sa halip na ang mga karumal-dumal na mga inmates ang palayain, marami pang inmates tulad ng pastor, guro, at prison counselors.

“Why were they bypassed for a man who smuggled drugs inside a Blessed Mary statue? Bakit nauna pa si Mayor?,” tanong ni Hontiveros.

“This is not the first time Faeldon has failed in handling critical positions. When he was head of the Bureau of Customs (BOC), P 6.4 billion worth of shabu from China slipped through our ports and the ‘tara system’ worsened. The Ombudsman itself recommended the filing of both administrative and criminal charges. It seems that everywhere Faeldon goes, corruption and abuse of power follow,” dagdag pa nito.

Maliban sa pagsibak kay Faeldon dapat din aniyang magpatupad ng rigodon sa mga tauhan at operasyon ng Bucor.
