MAAARING ibalik ang Metro Manila sa modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) kapag ang kaso ng COVID-19 sa bansa ay umabot sa 85,000 gaya ng pinroject ng mga eksperto mula sa University of the Philippines (UP).
“That’s a distinct possibility, although it’s a possibility that I wish would not happen,” ayon kay presidential spokesperson Harry Roque. Pumiyok si Sec. Roque, hindi na kakayanin pa ng ekonomiya ang panibagong shutdown, subalit “if we have to and there’s no alternative, we need to do it.”
“So ang sinasabi nga natin, dapat ingatan ang ating mga katawan para tayo po ay magkaroon ng hanapbuhay,” dagdag na pahayag nito.
“I’m confident that the Filipinos actually will cooperate to an even greater degree than they have shown. Yesterday, I announced that we’re second in the world as far as wearing face masks is concerned, and that shows that the Filipinos will cooperate when they have to,” aniya pa rin.
Ang National Capital Region, ay nasa ilalim ng MECQ mula Mayo 16 hanggang 31, na ngayon naman ay nasa ilalim ng general community quarantine. (CHRISTIAN DALE)
