NAGPAHAYAG ng katuwaan si Senadora Grace Poe sa desisyon ng Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) na suspendihin ang memorandum circular na pumipigil sa pagbabayad ng hospital claim na sangkot sa fraud o dayaan.

“The suspension of the PhilHealth circular is a puny step to the pressing situation threatening the delivery of healthcare services due to unpaid obligations to hospitals,” saad ni Poe.
“What we’ve been wanting all along is for the state health insurer to declare that it has reimbursed all valid claims of our hospitals,” dagdag ng senadora.

Ipinaliwanag ni PhilHealth spokesperson Shirley Domingo na sinuspinde ang Memorandum Circular 2021-0013 kasunod ng dayalogo ng mga ospital at ni Health Undersecretary Leopoldo Vega.
Umaasa si Poe na sa pagsususpinde ng memorandum circular, mapapabilis ang pagbabayad ng claims at ang buong proseso nito.

“We expect PhilHealth to enforce a fast turnaround time in settling its dues and improve operational efficiency in processing claims. Any further delay in the payment of its obligations is untenable amid the raging pandemic that puts a heavy strain on our healthcare system,” diin ni Poe.

“Papaano makakapagbigay-serbisyo ang mga ospital sa ating mga kababayan kung sila mismo ay naghihingalo na dahil sa utang ng PhilHealth?” giit pa ng mambabatas.

Ipinaliwanag pa ni Domingo na nananatili ang memorandum mula pa noong 2016 at ipinatupad lang ito sa 28 ospital sapul noong 2019.

Wala rin anyang hospital claim payment ang sinuspinde ng PhilHealth sa panahon ng pandemya. (DANG SAMSON-GARCIA)
