AirAsia Philippines entices festival-goers with another round of PISO SALE!

The World’s Best Low-Cost Airline takes off to King City of the South, continuously promotes Filipino festivities

Manila, Philippines, August 17, 2023 — AirAsia Philippines is set to delight its Dabawenyo guests as it joins the annual celebration of the Kadayawan Festival in Davao City. Supporting tourism through the promotion of festivities, the World’s Best Low-Cost Airline joins the Pamulak sa Kadayawan Floral Float Parade for the third consecutive year this August 20.

The airline’s continuous commitment to providing low-cost travel for its guests could pave the way for the Davao City Tourism Office to reach its goal of attracting approximately 1.8 million visitors this year, in an effort to revitalize the city’s tourism sector now that the Philippines has officially exited the state of national health emergency.

AirAsia Philippines Head for Communications and Public Affairs and First Officer Steve Dailisan said, “AirAsia values the importance of these events in preserving and showcasing the rich heritage of each AirAsia destination. Supporting local cultural and festival events like this is a testament to our commitment to promoting tourism, as we continue to provide affordable and convenient travel options that enable our guests to have a once-in-a-lifetime festive experience.”

AirAsia Allstar pilots, cabin crew, ground staff, and two of this generation’s brightest stars, Michelle Vito and Thea Tolentino, are expected to color and meet the streets of Davao City with a grand parade float that showcases the vibrant and diverse culture of the region.

To entice more travelers to visit their bucket list destinations in the Philippines and the ASEAN, the World’s Best Low-Cost Airline is offering another round of its P1SO Sale! From 18 – 27 August 2023, guests can grab a chance to fly to popular destinations such as Davao, Cagayan De Oro, Caticlan, Roxas City, and many others, including international destinations Osaka and Seoul, for as low as PHP1 one-way base fare for travels from February 19, 2024 to June 19, 2025.

As an airline known for democratizing air travel, AirAsia’s PISO sale and the recently concluded 8’s a SALE is expected to cushion the effect of the Civil Aeronautics Board’s (CAB) recent advisory on the fuel surcharge Level 6 increase.

A Level 6 fuel surcharge means that guests purchasing their tickets next month may expect an additional surcharge between Php 185 to Php 665 for domestic flights and Php 610.37 to Php 4,538.40 for international flights, depending on the distance.

“AirAsia Philippines will adhere to the Civil Aeronautics Board’s advisory on fuel surcharges. However, as a pioneer in low-cost air travel with a well-established domestic and international network, we will continue to strengthen our commitment to offering our guests the best value, as well as the safest and fastest way of connecting to their loved ones. We also invite our guests to avail of ongoing promos and book their flights early, especially for future travels,” Dailisan said.

AirAsia Philippines advises its guests to visit the AirAsia travel safety website for all travel advisories and other information regarding flight schedules. Guests flying to various domestic destinations are advised to be at the NAIA Terminal 2 at least three hours before their departure. Meanwhile, guests traveling on international flights will continue to arrive and depart at the NAIA Terminal 3.
