PINAG-AARALAN ng liderato ng Philippine National Police ang pagsibak sa Jolo City Police chief at Sulu PNP Provincial Director kaugnay sa nangyari umanong mis-encounter sa Walled City, sa bayan Jolo na ikinamatay ng dalawang military intelligence officers at dalawang enlisted personnel ng Philippine Army.

Ito ang naging pahayag kahapon ni PNP Spokesman P/BGen. Bernard Banac kaugnay sa panawagan ni Philippine Army chief Lt/Gen. Gilbert Gapay na pagsibak sa mga pinuno ng Jolo City PNP at Sulu PD dahil sa umano’y ‘rubout’ sa kanyang mga tauhan taliwas sa deklarang mis-encounter ng mga pulis.

“The accounts from both sides are conflicting. Let’s wait for the NBI investigation. While there is the principle of command responsibility, it must be carefully determined how high in the hierarchy should be accountability be.

It has to stop somewhere,” reaksyon ni Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana Naniniwala naman si Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana na bugso lamang ng damdamin at matinding emosyon ang

“murder at rubout” statement ni Lt. Gen. Gapay.

“He is just repeating the reports he got from our people on the ground. Of course, the event happened just the other day and emotions are high among the Army troops. The army leadership in Sulu are trying hard to calm their people while inquiry is going on.”

Una rito, galit na inihayag ni Lt. Gen. Gapay na walang mis-encounter na nangyari dahil malinaw umanong rubout ito dahil hindi naman nagpaputok ang apat na mga tauhan ng Army Intelligence na sakay ng  Mitsubishi Montero nang pagbabarilin ng apat hanggang limang pulis.

Nabatid na nagkausap at nagkasundo sina AFP chief Gen. Felimon Santos at PNP chief Gen Archie Gamboa at ipinangako ang full cooperation sa imbestigasyon ng NBI.

Kahapon, inulit ni Phil. Army spokesman, Col. Ramon Zagala na hindi sila sang-ayon sa pahayag ng PNP na mis- encounter ang nangyari.

“Mis-encounter is, by definition is friendly forces engages each other without knowing it, they have mistaken the other side as the enemy when they are friendly forces,” ayon sa opisyal.

IMBESTIGASYON

Naniniwala naman ang isang senador na dapat magsagawa ng sariling imbestigasyon ang Senado hinggil sa nasabing insidente sa Jolo, Sulu.

Ayon kay Senador Francis Pangilinan, kailangang malaman ang tunay na pangyayari at bigyan ng hustisya ang mga biktima.

“[Nakababahala] ang balitang ito. Ngayon pa lang na hindi pa batas ang anti-terror bill, may nangyayari nang ganito.

Ano na lang ang laban ng ordinaryong tao?” tanong ng senador.

“An independent and impartial investigation will help bring out the truth so that the victims and their families find  justice,” dagdag pa ng senador.

Kailangan aniyang timbangin ang sariling bersyon ng PNP at Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) sa madugong krimen.

Kasabay nito, umapela ang senador sa PNP at AFP na tiyakin na hindi tataas ang tensyon sa pagitan ng mga ito dahil sa pangyayari.
