DALAWANG nalalabi pang kasapi ng communist terrorist group ang napatay ng militar habang tatlong mataas na kalibre ng baril ang nabawi makaraan ang sagupaan sa Barangay Katipunan, Tapaz sa lalawigan ng Capiz, ayon sa ulat ng Philippine Army.
Ayon sa ulat nitong nakalipas na linggo, nakasagupa ng pinagsanib na pwersa ng Army’s 82nd Infantry Battalion, 61st Infantry Battalion, at 12th Infantry Battalion ang grupo ng mga armadong kalalakihan sa Barangay Katipunan, sa bayan ng Tapaz.
Napag-alaman, naglunsad ng combat operation ang tropa ng pamahalaan matapos na makarating ang sumbong hinggil sa presensya ng mga armadong kalalakihan na pinaniniwalaang remnants ng Komiteng Rehiyon–Panay (KR-P) bandang alas-7:45 ng umaga.
Sa isinagawang clearing operation sa encounter sites, natagpuan ang dalawang bangkay ng CTG at nakakuha ng dalawang M16 assault rifles, isang M653 rifle, rifle grenade, explosives, ammunition, magazines, at personal belongings.
Wala namang nasugatan sa mga tauhan ni
Major General Michael G. Samson, commander ng 3rd Infantry Division, kaya pinapurihan nito ang tropa sa mabilis nilang pagkilos sa sumbong ng mga residente at naneyutralisa nila ang mga nalalabi pa ng kasapi ng KRP.
“This victory is not only a testament to the dedication and bravery of our soldiers, but also to the overwhelming support and vigilance of the people of Tapaz. The timely information provided by concerned citizens was instrumental in the success of this operation,” ani MGen. Samson.
“We urge the remnants of the CTG to reflect on the fate of their fallen comrades and avoid the same tragic end. Return to the folds of the law, reintegrate into mainstream society, and avail of government reintegration programs such as the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) and the amnesty initiatives. A new life awaits you; one where true harmony and fulfillment can only be found in the embrace of your family, your community, and a government that is ready to support your transformation,” dagdag pa ng 3ID commander.
