IPINAGPALIBAN ng pamunuan ng University Athletic Association of the Philippines ang lahat ng sporting events nito simula Pebrero 15 bunga pa rin ng novel coronavirus, ngayon ay Corona Virus Disease 19 (COVID-19) na.
Unanimous ang naging desisyon ng Board of Trustees at Board of Managing Directors ng liga noong Martes ng hapon matapos ang press conference para sa second semester events.
Ito ay bilang pagsunod na rin sa abiso mula sa Department of Health at ng Commission on Higher Education.
“The University Athletic Association of the Philippines upholds, in the highest regard, the well- being, health and safety of the League’s community – players, coaches, students, their families and fans in general,” saad sa league’s statement na nilagdaan nina UAAP President Emmanuel Fernandez at Executive Director Rene Saguisag, Jr.
“In light of the COVID-19 outbreak, the UAAP, after thorough deliberation by the Board of Trustees and the Board of Managing Directors, have come to a decision to postpone all sporting events starting Saturday, 15 February.”
“The UAAP will be closely monitoring the country’s situation in relation to the COVID-19 outbreak in order to determine the resumption of the games,” ayon pa sa official statement ng UAAP. VT ROMANO
