“Their names shall be remembered by a grateful nation. They are heroes who died in line of duty to protect the Filipino people,” wika ni Matula.
“As we look at the CCTV footage of the aftermath of the incident on June 29, 2020, it appears that the circumstances surrounding the case is not a mis-encounter but a gruesome killing of helpless persons in civilian clothes who were later-on identified as army intelligence operatives,” banggit ni Matula.
Aniya: “The video will tell us the undisciplined and unskilled post incident investigation of the police. More anomalous were the action of the police investigators in the crime scene. In violation of standard police procedure, no police line cordon was installed to preserve evidence, the police officers and civilians were loitering, touching the bodies of the victims, opening the door to the driver’s seat of the soldiers’ vehicle, among others.”
NELSON S. BADILLA
