TIWALA ang Armed Forces of the Philippine (AFP) na tuloy-tuloy na ang pagkawasak ng Communist Party of the Philippine at sa armadong galamay nitong New People’s Army makaraang 201 miyembro nito ang napaslang, 264 ang arestado at 7,615 ang nagpasyang magbalik-loob sa pamahalaan.

“Massive withdrawal of mass base support from the North pushes NPA to extinction,” pahayag ni Northern Luzon Command chief, Lt. Gen. Arnulfo Marcelo Burgos, kasunod ng kanyang ulat sa punong himpilan ng AFP na umaabot sa 313 NPA surrenders ang naitala mula sa Northern at Central Luzon para sa taong 2020.

Ayon kay Lt. Gen. Burgos, 96 assorted firearms ang isinuko sa government security forces kasabay ng mass surrenders ngayong taon.

“Commensurate remunerations depending on the state and caliber of firearms will be given to the surrenders as part of government grants under the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program or E-CLIP prior to the weapons’ demilitarization,” ani Lt. Gen. Burgos.

Paliwanag pa ng opisyal, higit na kinatatakutan ng CPP-NPA ang formal surrender at deklarasyong withdrawal of support sa Communist Party of the Philippines, kaysa malagasan ng mga armadong mandirigma dahil nagpapakita ito na mulat na ang sambayanan at hindi na sinusuportahan ang sinasabi nilang ipinaglalaban.

Kaugnay nito, ipinagmalaki ni Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief of Staff General Gilbert Gapay na malapit na umanong “mawasak” ng militar ang kilusang komunista sa pagtatapos ng termino ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.

“I can confidently say that we are close to realizing our goal of totally destroying this communist armed threat by 2022. With operational excellence, organizational efficiency, and the steady support of our people, we can achieve the complete victory we’ve been aiming for,” ani Gen. Gapay.

Pinapurihan din ni Gapay ang mga sundalo sa naitalang significant accomplishments sa pagpuksa sa notorious communist leaders sa kanilang area of responsibility.

Ito ay kasunod ng pagkakapatay sa mahigit 200 rebelde at pagsuko ng libo-libong iba pa ngayong taon.

Nabatid na sa nasasakupan ng NOLCOM, umaabot sa 4,378 ang nagdeklara ng “persona non grata” sa mga opisyal at tauhan ng CPP-NPA mula sa nasasakupang apat na rehiyon, 22 lalawigan, kabilang ang mga siyudad, munisipalidad at barangay. (JESSE KABEL)
