IGINIIT ng isang mambabatas sa Kamara na itaas sa 20% ang capacity o papayagang pumasok sa mga restaurant upang madagdagan ang bilang ng mga magtatrabaho at makabawi ang mga negosyante habang nasa gitna ng pandemya ang bansa.

Ani ACT-CIS party-list Rep. Jocelyn Tulfo, hindi umano sapat ang 10% capacity na itinakda sa mga restaurant at iba pang uri ng negosyo.

“People need jobs to survive the pandemic. Businesses can be reopened safely with strict COVID safety measures compliance. Living with COVID can be done. We can overcome fear of COVID,” ani Tulfo.

Ayon sa mambabatas, walang dahilan para limitahan sa 10% ang capacity ng mga restaurant at iba pang negosyo kung binigyan ang mga ito ng Local Government Units (LGUs) at Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) ng COVID Safety Seal.

Iminungkahi rin ng mambabatas na ipagamit sa mga restaurant ang mga kalsada lalo na kung weekends o sa araw ng Sabado at Linggo, para sa tinatawag na al fresco o open air dining.

“More al fresco dining is necessary because the food service industry companies must be able to pay their fixed costs like labor, food inventory, rent, water, and electricity,” ayon pa sa lady solon.

Alert level simplehan

Samantala, umapela rin ang lady solon sa Inter-Agency Task Force against COVID-19 o IATF na simplehan ang alert levels na ipinatutupad upang hindi malito ang mga tao.

Sa ngayon ay 5 alert levels ang ipinatutupad ng gobyerno kapalit ng iba’t ibang uri ng community quarantine.

“In the current experiment, there is no wide gap between Alert Level 1 and Level 2. Likewise, the gap between Level 3 and Level 4 is minimal,” ayon sa mambabatas.

“Therefore, Instead of five, there should be only three tiers. Having only three levels or tiers is simpler, easier to understand, and encourages compliance,” dagdag pa nito. (BERNARD TAGUINOD)
