NANGAKO ang Land Transportation Office (LTO) na sisimulan na nito ang nationwide issuance ng drivers’ licenses na mayroong 10-year validity sa darating na Disyembre ngayong taon.
“By December 2021, the LTO commits that all its offices nationwide will be issuing licenses with a 10-year validity,” ayon kay Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.
Sinimulan ng LTO noong Oktubre 28 ang pag-roll out sa bagong driver’s license na balido para sa 10 taon sa kanilang licensing offices sa Quezon City.
“The rest of the offices in the NCR (National Capital Region) shall start issuance of the same in November 2021, to be followed by all other regions progressively,” ayon kay Pangulong Duterte.
Aniya, magiging hassle-free na para sa mga motorista na makakuha ng driver’s license sa bansa.
Matatandaang Agosto 2, 2017, tinintahan ni Pangulong Duterte ang Republic Act (RA) 10930 na nag-amyenda sa Land Transportation and Traffic Code to “establish a system that promotes the ease of access to government services and efficient transportation regulation favorable to the people.”
Pinalawig ng RA 10930 ang validity period ng mga lisensiya mula 5 taon hanggang 10 taon mula sa nagdaang tatlong taon para sa mga tsuper na walang violations. (CHRISTIAN DALE)
