KINONDENA ng Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) ang pamamaril sa harapan ng Gate 3 ng Ateneo de Manila University sa Quezon City habang nagdaraos ng College of Law commencement exercise na ikinamatay ng tatlo katao kabilang ang dating lady mayor ng Lamitan City, Basilan.
“The DILG sincerely sympathizes with the family of the victims of this unfortunate incident as we assure them that we will strengthen the case against the suspect, file the necessary charges, and ensure that the suspect will languish behind bars,” ayon sa inilabas na pahayag ng DILG.
Kinilala ang suspek sa pamamaril na si Dr. Chao Tiao Yumul ng Lamitan City, Basilan, agad nadakip matapos ang pamamaril.
“We likewise commend PNP Quezon City Police District and the Anonas Police Station for their swift action that led to the immediate arrest of the suspect,” dagdag ng DILG.
Samantala, sinabi ng pulisya na patuloy ang imbestigasyon sa suspek sa pamamaril na si Yumol makaraang malaman na matagal nang may alitan ang dalawang panig.
Namatay sa pamamaril si dating Lamitan City Mayor Rose Furigay, kanyang aide na si Victor Capistrano, at ang ADMU security guard na si Jeneven Bandiala. (JESSE KABEL)
