MAGPAPADALA si United States President Joe Biden ng trade at investment mission sa Pilipinas.

Inanunsyo ito ni Biden matapos makipagpulong kay Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. sa Oval Office o formal working space ng una sa Estados Unidos.

“We’re gonna announce today that I’m sending a first-of-its-kind presidential trade and investment mission to the Philippines,” ayon kay Biden.

Base sa kanilang joint statement, magpapadala si Biden ng Presidential Trade and Investment Mission sa Pilipinas sa ngalan niya “to enhance U.S. companies’ investment in the Philippines’ innovation economy, its clean energy transition and critical minerals sector, and the food security of its people.”

Kapwa inanunsyo rin ng dalawang lider na ang Estados Unidos at Pilipinas ay tatayong co-host ng 2024 Indo-Pacific Business Forum – United States’ marquee commercial event sa rehiyon, sa Maynila.

“[This] will further establish the Philippines as a key hub for regional supply chains and high-quality investment,” ang nakasaad sa joint statement.

“Additionally, the two countries will pursue engagements with stakeholders, including in the business and social sectors, regarding opportunities to enhance bilateral economic engagement in a manner that is worker-centered, sustainability-driven, fair, and transparent, focusing on sectors in which it is critical to develop resilient supply chains and in which significant and meaningful economic value-added and employment can be generated in the United States and the Philippines,” dagdag pa nito.

Nauna rito, nabanggit ng Punong Ehekutibo na ang kanyang official visit sa Estados Unidos ay nangangahulugan ng panliligaw sa mga posibleng investors sa Pilipinas. (CHRISTIAN DALE)
