NAPIGILAN ng mga tauhan ng Philippine Army ang posibleng pagpapasabog sa mga sundalo gayundin sa mga sibilyan, makaraang madiskubre ang limang improvised explosive device (IEDs) sa Sitio Cambaugo, Brgy. Rajah Cabungsuan, bayan ng Lingig, sa lalawigan ng Surigao del Sur.
Ayon sa ulat ng militar, bandang alas-8:00 noong Biyernes ng umaga nang matuton ng joint intelligence operation ng 67th Infantry Battalion at 104th MICO ang limang improvised explosive device (IEDs) sa Sitio Cambaugo, Brgy. Rajah Cabungsuan.
Nabatid na bago ang pagkilos ng military ay nakatanggap sila ng sumbong mula sa civilian informants hinggil sa IEDs kaya agad bumuo ng team ng intelligence operatives at sinalakay ang area at nasamsam ang IEDs mula sa Front North, SRC 1, Southern Mindanao Regional Committee, na tumitimbang ng may isang kilo ang bawat isa.
Agad dinala sa headquarters ng 67th IB ang IEDs para sa proper disposition.
Ayon kay Lt. Col. Dema-ala, Battalion commander ng 67th IB, “The recovered IEDs are attributed to unit’s relentless effort in intensifying intelligence operations.
The successive discoveries of explosive items are an indication that NPAs firepower and strength is decreasing, this clearly shows that they are still creating violation on Comprehensive Agreements on Respect for Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law (CARHRIHL).
