KASO VS EX-PHILHEALTH PRESIDENT MORALES, TEST SA ANTI-CORRUPTION DRIVE NG ADMIN

MAITUTURING na ‘test’ sa anti-corruption drive ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang paghahain ng kaso ng National Bureau of Investigation laban kay dating PhilHealth President Ricardo Morales at iba pang sinasabing kasabwat sa umano’y katiwalian sa ahensya.

Ito ay ayon kay Senador Leila de Lima na umaasa na magtutuloy-tuloy ang kaso at mapananagot ang mga tunay na nagkasala.

“I welcome NBI’s decision to charge Morales and other PhilHealth officials for corruption. This case will again test this admin’s resolve in the fight against corruption. I hope they don’t mess this up this time,” saad ni de Lima.

Sinabi naman ni Senador Panfilo ‘Ping’ Lacson na dahil sa aksyon ng NBI, mas nararapat ituloy ng Senado ang pagtugon nito sa kanilang oversight function.

“Modesty aside, most of the pieces of evidence used by the National Bureau of Investigation were culled from the materials that we submitted to the Department of Justice,” diin ni Lacson.

“We can only hope that this case reaches its logical conclusion to make all those who, without a shred of conscience in their bones, took advantage of a deadly virus to fleece government of funds intended to respond to an unprecedented health crisis that we continue to grapple with,” dagdag pa ng senador.
