NAGPAHAYAG ng interes si Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. sa waste-to-energy projects.

Sa talumpati ni Pangulong Marcos sa harap ng malalaking negosyante sa Brunei na bahagi ng major players ng energy sector, ipinaabot nito ang intensyon na gumamit ang Pilipinas ng pinakabagong state-of-the-art technology para sa transition mula sa paggamit ng fossil fuels patungo sa renewables.

“There’s a great deal of interest in that (waste to energy). But right now, it is not at the very macro level. It’s very much at the micro level. Yeah, it’s basically local governments because there is the problem, the attendant problem of what do we do with our waste?” pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos.

Aminado si Pangulong Marcos na kailangan ng akmang imprastraktura para mapakinabangan ang mga basura at gawing enerhiya kung kaya kailangan ang tulong mula sa local government units.

Kailangan din aniyang ayusin ang garbage collection.

“But I think the legislators are coming around to the understanding that there actually are viable and clean solutions to the problem of waste disposal. So you take care of two very difficult problems at the same time,” dagdag ng Pangulo.

Kabilang sa mga nakapulong ni Pangulong Marcos ang mga negosyante mula sa Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sdn. Bhd (BSP), Brunei LNG Sdn. Bhd (BLNG), Total Energies in BruneI, Serikandi Oilfield Services Sdn Bhd, at Adinin Group of Companies.
