Ayon kay NCAA Season 97 Management Committee chairman Manuel Raymund Castellano Jr. ng host De La Salle-College of St. Benilde, sabik na sila na muling magbalik matapos matigil dahil sa COVID-19 pandemic.
“For two years, we’ve been waiting for contact sports to return, and we’re excited to have basketball and volleyball games back. And for this year, we continue to hold online chess and online taekwondo tournaments.”
Kaya kasunod ng opening ceremonies Sabado sa alas-2:30 ng hapon, magsisimula ang opening games sa pagitan ng Benilde Blazers at Letran Knights 3:30pm, at San Beda Red Lions kontra Lyceum Pirates 7:05pm sa La Salle Green Hills.
Samantala, simula noong Nobyembre 20, 2019 ay babalik muli ang UAAP Men’s Basketball Tournament ngayong Sabado sa closed-door setting sa SM MOA Arena.
De La Salle University ang host ng UAAP Season 84 na pormal na magbubukas sa games ng University of Santo Tomas at Far Eastern University 10am, Adamson University at National University 1pm, defending champion Ateneo at Season 81 runners-up University of the Philippines 4pm, La Salle at University of the East 7pm.
