Two Mindanaoans Claim Multi-Million Lotto Jackpots

Mandaluyong City – Two lotto patrons from Mindanao entered the 2023 list of new millionaires as they finally claimed the multi-million jackpot prizes of two distinct jackpot-bearing games drawn at the PCSO Main Office in Mandaluyong City and televised live via PTV-4.

On March 13, 2023, a lucky player from Bayugan, Agusan Del Sur claimed the Mega Lotto 6/45 jackpot prize worth ₱12,171,239.80 drawn on March 6, 2023 with winning combination 26-43-11-18-05-45.

According to the claimant, she randomly selected the winning numbers when she was playing at one of the lotto outlets in Bayugan. She has also been a lotto player for almost two decades now and she still can’t believe that her loyalty to the game has paid off. When asked how she intends to use her winnings, she said, “Sa ngayon po, ilalagak ko muna sa banko at pagiisipang mabuti kung paano ko magagamit ng tama ang napakalaking halaga pong ito na natanggap ko ngayon.”

The second claimant is a sole winner of the Grand Lotto 6/55 that was drawn on March 11, 2023. The winning ticket was bought in one of the lotto outlets in Davao City, Davao Del Sur bearing the combination 45-29-12-03-26-51. She claimed her winnings worth ₱29,700,000.00 at the PCSO Main Office on March 16, 2023.

This lucky Davaoeño has been a frequent lotto player for over 15 years and can attest that the chances of winning in Lotto games are real, as she has previously won several consolation prizes. She confessed that whenever she plays the lotto, she always chooses the Lucky Pick (LP) or the random numbers selected by the system. She mentioned that her winnings will be used to start a business selling motorbike parts and services, as well as purchase of real estate.

According to Republic Act No. 1169, winners have one (1) year from the date of the draw to collect their prize or it will be forfeited and will form part of the PCSO Charity Fund. Winners must sign and write their names at the back of the winning ticket and present two (2) government-issued identification cards in order to claim their winnings.

Additionally, prizes above Php10,000.00 are subject to a 20% final tax in accordance with the TRAIN Law.
