KASABAY ng paggunita ng bansa sa kaarawan ni Andres Bonifacio, naglabas ng manifesto of unwavering support ang mga dati at aktibong opisyal mula sa AFP, PNP, PCG, BJMP at BFP para kay Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr., bilang kanilang Commander-in-Chief.

Sa pahayag ng Association of General and Flag Officers (AGFO) sa kanilang ika-60 anibersaryo sa Camp Aguinaldo, mariin nilang kinondena ang anomang panawagan para sa military adventurism o unconstitutional acts laban sa administrasyon.

“We strongly condemn and reject any call for the AFP to engage in unconstitutional acts or military adventurism,” ayon sa AGFO statement.

Binatikos din ng grupo ang mga “political noise and agitations” na nananawagan umano ng pag-withdraw ng suporta kay Pangulong Marcos Jr., at binigyang-diin ang prinsipyong civilian supremacy over the military alinsunod sa Article XVI, Section 5 ng Saligang Batas na dapat manatiling apolitical at propesyonal ang AFP.

Nilagdaan ang manifesto ni retired MGen. Gerardo Layug, AGFO president at chairman of the board, kasama ang iba pang opisyal, trustees, at 75 members ng organisasyon.

“We commend their steadfast refusal to be swayed by partisan interests, and their firm resolve to keep the AFP united, professional, and loyal to the Constitution,” dagdag pa ng AGFO.

Pinuri ng Armed Forces of the Philippines ang AGFO sa kanilang deklarasyon ng suporta.

Ayon kay Col. Xerxes Trinidad, AFP Public Information Office chief, malaking bagay ang pagpapahayag ng tiwala ng mga lider na halos buong buhay ay inilaan sa serbisyo publiko.

“We welcome this message as a powerful reminder that unity within the ranks, past and present, remains one of the AFP’s greatest strengths,” ani Trinidad.
