DAPAT maisailalim din sa regulasyon ng Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) ang mga inilalabas na pelikula at series ng “Netflix” at iba pang online streaming services.

Ito ang ipinahiwatig ni Atty. Jonathan Presquito, legal officer ng MTRCB sa pagdinig ng Senate Committee on Trade and Industry.

Sinabi ni Presquito na layon nito na matiyak na tumutugon ang mga online streaming services sa mga regulasyong pinaiiral sa Pilipinas.

Iginiit ni Presquito na kahit sa South Korea ay dumadaan sa review ang mga content ng Netflix.

Dapat aniyang matiyak na age appropriate at walang prohibited content na makikita sa mga online streaming service.

“Netflix are media on demand platform and we have to regulate those platforms. We have to be sure that those materials being shown on those platforms are compliance with the MTRCB law kaya kami humihingi rin ng guidelines if it is the position of this committte that does it include or contemplate matters that are within the regulatory jurisdiction of MTRCB,” saad ni Presquito.
