SI Police Lieutenant General Guillermo Eleazar ang hahalili kay Police General Debold Sinas bilang pinuno ng Philippine National Police (PNP).
Kinumpirma ito ngayong araw ni Interior Secretary Eduardo Año kaugnay ng nakatakdang pagreretiro ni Sinas sa Mayo 8.
Ani Año, sa pamamagitan ng Napolcom resolution ay inirekomenda si Eleazar na maging next PNP chief base sa seniority, merit, service reputation, and competence para pamunuan ang police force.
Dagdag pa ng kalihim, inaprubahan na ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang rekomendasyon kay Eleazar.
“I welcome the appointment of Police Lieutenant General Eleazar who is very qualified for the job,” pahayag pa ni Año.
Agad namang nagpasalamat si Eleazar sa pagkakahirang sa kanya.
“To be appointed as the Chief PNP is a rare opportunity, but come with the challenges of good leadership and meeting the high expectations of the Filipino people. I accept these challenges.
I express my sincerest gratitude to our Commander-In-Chief, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, for choosing me to be among the instruments of his genuine intention of a having a well-disciplined and professional police force that could always be banked on in enforcing the law and in serving and protecting the Filipino people.
