AMINADO si Senador Imee Marcos na ikinagulat niya ang impormasyon na milyong Anti-COVID vaccine pa ang hindi naibibigay sa tao na hindi dapat isisi sa local government units.

“Yes, the President is right, LGUs (local government units) that delay vaccinations should be punished. But on record those LGUs are few and far between; most LGUs I know in the more distant provinces are desperate to get their hands on vaccine supplies!” saad ni Marcos.

Sinabi ni Marcos na may 40 million doses ng bakuna ang hindi pa nagagamit dahil sa logistical logjams ng Department of Health, Bureau of Customs o sa iba pang distribution at storage chains.

Subalit ang pinakamabigat na dahilan anya ng delay sa pagbabakuna ay ang pag-aalinlangan ng marami sa kaligtasan ng bakuna.

“The other major cause of delay is still vaccine hesitancy, which has not been addressed by a coherent or thorough public information campaign,” paliwanag ni Marcos.

Sa datos, 25% na ng 111 million Filipinos ang fully vaccinated.

Samantala, iginiit ni Marcos na dapat na ring simulan ang registration para sa booster shots habang hinihintay pa rin ang approval ng World Health Organization. (DANG SAMSON-GARCIA)
