NANAWAGAN si dating Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte ng suporta para sa anak na si Vice President Sara Duterte kapag nagdesisyon itong tumakbo sa anomang posisyon sa susunod na nasyonal eleksyon.

Sa ginanap na Maisug Prayer Rally sa Cebu City noong nakaraang Linggo, umapela ang dating Chief Executive sa mga Cebuano.

“Indeed, Inday is truly our pride. God might not give everything, but if He grants this, we Bisayas should be grateful because there would be two Dutertes,” pahayag ng dating Pangulo.

Hindi ito direktang sinabi ng dating Pangulo ngunit nagpahiwatig siya sa posibleng kandidatura ni VP Inday.

Aniya, sa tatlo niyang mga anak na kasalukuyang nasa pulitika, si Sara ang maaaring tumakbo sa susunod na national elections.

“It’s because Inday is the one who has reached a higher position. Ah, I will just wait for what God will give. Whatever God gives, we will accept it, and then you help because we are Bisaya,” dagdag pa ni Duterte.

Marcos dapat 6 years lang

Samantala, nagbigay rin ng pahayag ang dating Pangulo hinggil sa mainitang diskusyon tungkol sa panukalang Charter change.

Sinabi ni Duterte na pabor siya rito hangga’t ito ay hindi gagamitin para sa interes ng mga kasalukuyang nasa posisyon, kabilang si Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

“I’m okay with Charter change as long as it is not intended to benefit the incumbent. It means Marcos would only have one term: six years. If he amends the Constitution for this purpose, I will support and unite with him, but this won’t apply to him.”

“There’s no real problem. You don’t have to convince me of anything except that it should not be a right for those who are incumbent including the president.”

“Because if he amends the Constitution to run again, that’s the problem. That’s where I draw the line.”

“I’m here because of this proposal to amend the Constitution. It’s okay. No problem. Absolutely no problem,” pahayag niya.

Ang Maisug Prayer Rally ay unang ginanap sa Davao City bilang panawagan na ipatigil ang paggamit ng public funds kapalit ng pirma para suportahan ang People’s Initiative.
