TULOY-TULOY ang isinasagawang pagpapalawak ng alyansa ng Armed Forces of the Philippines sa iba’t ibang mga bansa katulad ng isinusulong na kooperasyon ng Pilipinas at Sweden, pagdating sa larangan ng defense and security.

Ayon kay AFP Inspector General, Lt. General Steve Crespillo, ito ang layunin sa pagbisita ni Swedish Military Adviser ng Department for Armament and Industry ng Ministry of Defense ng Sweden, Brigadier General Olle Hultgren sa Camp Aguinaldo.

Tinalakay ng dalawang opisyal ang pagsisikap ng AFP na tumuklas ng karagdagang mga oportunidad para isulong ang shared commitment ng dalawang bansa sa regional security at global peacekeeping efforts.

Kung maaalala, ang relasyong militar ng Pilipinas at Sweden ay naka-angkla sa Memorandum of Understanding Concerning Cooperation in the Acquisition of Defense Materiel, na nilagdaan noong Hunyo 3, 2023, pahayag ni AFP Public Information Office chief, Col. Xerxes Trinidad.

“This pivotal agreement has paved the way for enhanced defense collaboration, particularly in the procurement of military equipment and materials,” ani Col. Trinidad. (JESSE KABEL RUIZ)
