KINUYOG ng administration congressmen si Sen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa sa pagpatol kay dismissed Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) agent Jonathan Morales na wala umanong kredibilidad.

Sa press conference ng mga mambabatas na mga miyembro ng administration bloc sa Kamara, hindi naitago ng mga ito ang labis na pagkadismaya kay Dela Rosa dahil mistulang hindi umano nito alam ang ‘rule of evidence’ gayung naging hepe ito ng Philippine National Police (PNP).

“Many of us are friends of Senator Bato, being a policeman, he is a former PNP chief, alam ho niya ‘yong rules of evidence. If your goal is to achieve a successful prosecution, you should have sound evidence to prove your case,” ani Lanao de Sur Rep. Zia Alonto Adiong.

Si Morales ang nagsiwalat sa dokumento ukol sa paggamit umano nina Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., at actress Maricel Soriano, ng ilegal na droga noong 2012, na walang maipakitang ebidensya.

“Personally I was disappointment the way Senator Bato dela Rosa handle this case,” ani AKO Bicol Party-list Rep. Raul Angelo Bongalon, gayung naging hepe aniya ito ng pambansang pulisya noong panahon ni dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.

“I am no expert in the rules on evidence, but it would be foolhardy for anybody to validate and authenticate any evidence, the existence of which was already denied by the agency which is the official custodian of such documents. If the document is fake, we should not waste time looking for the original because there is none,” ayon naman sa hiwalay na pahayag ni Surigao del Norte Rep. Robert Ace Barbers.

Dahil dito, hindi maialis aniya sa isip ng mga tao na nangangamoy bahagi ng demolition job ang ginagawa ni Dela Rosa lalo na’t nalilihis na ang usapin sa tunay na pakay ng imbestigasyon na alamin kung sino ang nag-leak ng dokumento sa PDEA.
