‘KAKALISKISAN’ na ng Mababang Kapulungan ng Kongreso ang PrimeWater Infrastructure Corp., na pag-aari ng pamilyang Villar, at inirereklamo sa hindi maayos na serbisyo sa iba’t ibang lugar sa bansa.

Ayon kay House assistant majority leader Jay Khonghun, maghahain ito na resolusyon para imbestigahan ang nasabing kumpanya dahil lumalala ang problema sa tubig, hindi lamang sa Subic, Zambales kundi sa iba’t ibang lugar na sineserbisyuhan ng PrimeWater.

“PRIMEWATER. We have given you enough time to improve your services. Sabi nyo last meeting pandemic is the reason kaya may backlog kayo sa development,” ayon sa mambabatas.

Magugunita na napahiya sa isang rally ng Alyansa si senatorial candidate Camille Villar matapos sagutin ito ng mga tao ng “tubig” nang itanong niya kung anong pangarap ng mga ito sa buhay.

“This is not about politics. It’s about justice to the consumers. Sobrang dami na kayo pinahirapan. Sa mga pangako na hindi nyo tinutupad,” paglilinaw ng mambabatas sa ipatatawag nitong imbestigasyon.

Samantala, ipinagbunyi naman ni dating congressman Ferdinand Gaite ang resolusyon ng Sangguniang Panlungsod sa San Jose del Monte, Bulacan na putulin na ang Joint Venture Agreement (JVA) sa PrimeWater at San Jose del Monte Water District (SJDMWD).

Itinuturing ni Gaite na tagumpay ito ng mga residente sa nasabing lugar na biglang nagkaroon ng problema sa tubig mula nang makuha ng PrimeWater ang ang pagpapatakbo sa water district na hindi nila naranasan noon.

“This is a blow to the Villar-led privatization—or what I call ‘Villarization’—not just of the SJDM Water District but of several other water districts in the country. It is a clear signal that the people can fight back against schemes that lead to widespread retrenchments, unreasonable rate hikes, and the denial of the people’s basic right to water,” ani Gaite.
