LAS VEGAS – Hindi interesado si Floyd Mayweather na makipag-rematch kay Manny Pacquiao.

Ito ay ayon kay Leonard Ellerbe, CEO ng Mayweather Promotions at adviser ng retired American boxer.

“Floyd has no interest in fighting Pacquiao again,” komento ni Ellerbe matapos ang grand arrival ceremony nina Pacquiao at Keith Thurman sa MGMG Grand.

Ayon kay Ellerbe, kuntento at inienjoy ni Mayweather ang kanyang buhay matapos magretiro.

“He has zero interest. He’s been doing this all his life. And after a while, you get burned out. He’s given the sport everything. I can relate to everything [Pacquiao is] saying about being an older fighter, where you have to switch it up. Instead of running 10 miles, you might only have to run five because the wear and tear on your body, with all the rounds of sparring, it takes a lot out of you. Because guys like him and Floyd, they separate themselves from everyone else. That’s why we always say it’s levels to this,” dagdag pa ni Ellerbe, na siyang namamahala sa WBA welterweight fight nina Pacquiao at Thurman sa Sabado (Linggo sa Manila).

Ipinaliwanag pa ni Ellerbe na sa buong buhay ni Mayweather bilang boksingero, lahat ay ibinigay nito sa sport, kaya’t nang magretiro ay nais niyang gawin ang mga bagay na hindi nagawa noong aktibo pa.

“And Floyd’s always been more prepared than his opponents. He’s always been in the best shape ever, because he has given boxing everything. There was no stones unturned. So when you’re an older fighter, you have to make that adjustment. You have to train smarter and not harder. That’s what Manny was saying [earlier Tuesday] and I can appreciate it, because I know exactly what he was saying,” wika pa ni Ellerbe.

Ayon kay Ellerbe, si Mayweather ay nasa ringside para panoorin ang sagupaan nina Pacquiao at Thurman.

At hanggang doon na lamang umano iyon, sa kabila ng mga haka-haka na sakaling manalo ang Filipino ring icon ay babalik si Mayweather sila maglaban sa rematch.

“He’s very content,” ani Ellerbe. “He’s living his best life. I just talked to him earlier today. We went over some business stuff. He’s traveling, spending time with his kids, spending time with his family. He’s doing all the things that he never got a chance to do because boxing has consumed his life ever since he was 5 years old. So truly, he’s getting to do stuff for really kind of the first time in his life. And he’s really enjoying it.”

PACQUIAO-MAYWEATHER 1, TUMABO

Ang Pacquiao-Mayweather fight noong  Mayo 2015 ay kumita ng multi-million sa kasaysayan ng professional boxing, kung saan tumabo ito ng mahigit $600 million sa pangkalahatan, bukod pa sa nakapagtala ng record 4.6 million pay-per-view buys.

Tinalo ni Mayweather si Pacquiao via unanimous decision. Pero pagkatapos ng laban ay inihayag ni Pacquiao na injured ang kanyang kanang balikat. Bago pa bumalik ng Pilipinas ang Pambansang Kamao ay nagpasya itong ipaopera ang ‘torn rotator cuff’ sa kanyang balikat.

Para sa mga kritiko, bitin ang nasabing laban, dahil hindi umano 100% ang kundisyon ni Pacquiao.

Nang manood si Mayweather sa laban ni Pacquiao kay Adrien Broner noong Enero, marami ang nagsapantaha na susunod na ang rematch nila.

Pero, bingi si Mayweather sa panawagan ng mga fans.
