SA ngayon ay walang plano ang Malakanyang na bigyan ng ‘long weekend’ ang mga manggagawa at estudyante.
Sa press briefing sa Malakanyang, sinabi ni Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary at Palace Press Officer Claire Castro “the Office of the President has not yet given a word on whether the commemoration of Ninoy Aquino Day would be moved from Aug. 21 (Thursday) to Aug. 22 (Friday).”
“We will try to reach out to the President. But as of now, there is no update yet if the holiday will be moved,” aniya pa rin.
Sa kabilang dako, mayroong dalawang holidays ang buwan ng Agosto sa ilalim ng Proclamation No. 727 na ipinalabas ni Ferdinand Marcos Jr. noong Oktubre ng nakaraang taon. Ito ay ang Aug. 21, o Ninoy Aquino Day at Aug. 25, or National Heroes Day.
