INAABANGAN ng sambayanang Filipino ang pagbawi ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa pitong reef na sinakop at tinayuan ng China ng kanilang military bases sa West Philippine Sea.

Ito ang nabatid kina Bayan Muna party-list Rep. Carlos Zarate at Bayan Muna chairman Neri Colmenares sa gitna ng official visit sa China na nagsimula noong Miyerkoles.

“We urge Pres. Duterte to fulfill his recent promise that he will assert our sovereign rights in the West Philippine Sea based on our tribunal victory which declared that China has no territorial rights in the entire West Philippine Sea.

Kailangan aniyang mabawi ni Duterte ang Mischief Reef, Johnson South, Cuarteron, Fiery Cross, Subi Reef, McKennan Reef and Gaven Reef na tinayuan ng China ng kanilang military bases.

“Had Pres.  Duterte  asserted our tribunal victory in his first visit, China would not have been able to establish its seven military bases on the reefs of the Philippines.,” ayon naman kay Zarate kaya responsibilidad umano na mabawi ito.

HINDI KUNTENTO SA APOLOGY

Samantala, hindi kontento ang ilang mambabatas sa apology ng Chinese vessel na bumangga at nang-iwan sa 22 Filipino  na sakay ng GemVer 1, sa Recto Bank noong Hunyo hangga’t hindi nagbabayad ang mga ito ng danyos.

Ayon kay House minority leader Benny Abante, hindi dapat matigil sa paghingi ng apology sa nasabing insidente at kailangang pagbayaran ng Chinese vessel ang kanilang nagawang kasalanan.

“The efforts of the Chinese fishing boat operator to take responsibility for the accident and to compensate the owner and crew of F/B Gem-Ver are a good sign,” ani Abante.

Ganito rin ang iginiit ni Zarate at kailangang ipakita aniya ng China na seryoso ang mga ito na parusahan ang kanilang kababayan na ilegal na pumasok sa teritoryo ng Pilipinas at naglagay sa panganib sa mga Filipinong mangingisda.

“This intentional ramming cannot be compensated by a mere apology, without an official declaration from China’s government not only to prohibit but also to punish a repeat of these criminal acts” ayon pa kay Zarate.
