INANUNSYO ng Department of Tourism (DOT) ang pagpapaliban sa nakatakdang month long nationwide sale ngayong Marso dahil sa banta ng COVID-19.

“The nationwide mall sale portion of the 2020 Philippine Shopping Festival has been postponed, until further notice”, ayon sa DOT.

Isa pa sa mga rason ng DOT ang nakaaalarmang pagtaas ng bilang ng mga infected ng coronavirus sa buong mundo nitong mga nakaraang araw.

“As much as we want to mitigate the economic impact of the COVID-19, the safety of our citizens remains our priority. We advise the public to maintain proper hygiene and follow guidelines set by the Department of Health to contain the spread of the virus,” ayon kay Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat.

Kamakailan ay itinaas ng World Health Organization (WHO) ang global spread at impact risk alert ng COVID-19 sa ‘very high’ mula sa ‘high’ alert.

Nakipag-ugnayan na ang DOT sa pamunuan ng mga mall at nagpapasalamat sila sa suporta ng mga ito sa kanilang desisyon na i-postphone muna ang mga sale para na rin sa kaligtasan ng kanilang mga kostumer.
