PINAYAGAN na ng pamahalaan ang mga dive establishment at resorts sa mga lugar na nasa ilalim ng general community quarantine at modified general community quarantine na tumanggap ng recreational divers bilang bisita sa mga nasabing lugar.

Ang pahayag na ito ni Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque ay matapos ang pulong nitong Biyernes sa Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF).

Aniya, magpapalabas ang DOT ng kailangang alituntunin sa pakikipag-ugnayan at konsultasyon sa Department of the Interior and Local Government, Philippine National Police at “identified” local government units.

“The DOT shall determine destination localities where interzonal movement for purposes of the same may be permitted, taking into consideration the general preparedness of the area and its impact on the tourism industry, and shall issue the necessary guidelines therefor, which shall include a test-before-travel requirement,” ayon sa IATF.

Nagsimula na kasi ang pamahalaan ng gradual reopening ng mga tourist spot gaya ng Boracay at Baguio City para makatulong na maibalik ang hanapbuhay ng mga Filipino na dependent sa turismo na labis na naapektuhan ng COVID-19 pandemic. (CHRISTIAN DALE)
