PINURI ni House prosecution adviser at spokesperson Surigao del Norte Rep. Robert Ace Barbers si National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Senior Agent John Mark Calilung dahil sa ipinakita nitong pagiging matatag at kredible sa isinagawang cross-examination sa nagpapatuloy na Senate impeachment trial ni Vice President Sara Duterte.
Ayon kay Barbers, hindi napahina ng depensa ang kredibilidad ni Calilung at sa halip ay nagawa nitong magbigay ng malinaw, direkta at evidence-based na mga sagot sa mga tanong.
“Agent Calilung demonstrated professionalism, competence, and composure throughout the proceedings,” ani Barbers.
“Despite repeated attempts by the defense to cast doubt on his testimony, he remained unwavering and answered every question based on the facts and evidence gathered during the investigation,” dagdag nito.
Sinabi pa ni Barbers na ang naging pagganap ni Calilung sa ilalim ng cross-examination ay lalo pang nagpatibay sa kredibilidad ng mga ebidensyang iniharap ng House prosecution sa impeachment court.
“Our witnesses are prepared to withstand intense examination, and Agent Calilung’s testimony clearly demonstrated that the evidence supporting the Articles of Impeachment is grounded on facts, not speculation,” giit pa ni Barbers.
Bandang alas-5:00 ng hapon natapos ang ikatlong araw ng impeachment hearing at magbabalik ang paglilitis sa Lunes, Hulyo 13.
Kaugnay nito, hiniling ng House prosecution sa Impeachment Court na magpalabas ng subpoena ad testificandum laban kina National Bureau of Investigation Director Melvin Matibag at Office of the Vice President Chief of Staff Atty. Zuleika Lopez upang obligahin silang dumalo sa mga susunod na pagdinig.
