INATASAN ni Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte ang Department of Health at Department of Trade and Industry na tiyakin ang “affordability at accessibility” ng COVID-19 tests at test kits.

Sa ilalim ng Executive Order 118, ang Department of Health (DOH), sa pakikipagtulungan sa Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), ay kailangan na tiyakin at ipatupad ang price range para sa COVID-19 tests at test kits “subject to existing laws, rules and regulations.”

“The DOH and the DTI shall ensure that the price range for COVID-19 testing and test kits is just, equitable and sensitive to all stakeholders,” ang nakasaad sa EO.

Ang pagsunod sa price range ay requirement para sa licensing at accreditation ng mga ospital, laboratoryo at iba pang health establishments at facilities bilang COVID-19 testing centers.

“Failure to comply therewith [price range] may be considered as a ground for the revocation of existing licenses or accreditation,” ang nakasaad pa rin sa EO.

Kailangan din na patuloy magsagawa ng monitoring ang DOH at DTI at rebyuhin ang presyo at market supply ng test kits at iba pang basic medical items at supplies at ipatupad ang price controls kung kinakailangan.

Sa kabilang dako, ipinag-utos din ng Pangulo sa DOH na magpalabas ng hakbang upang masiguro na ang lahat ng accredited COVID-19 laboratories ay sinusunod ang transparency sa pagpresyo ng tests kits. (CHRISTIAN DALE)
