MULING hinubaran ng liderato ni House Speaker Lord Allan Velasco ng isa pang posisyon sa mababang kapulungan ng Kongreso si Anakalusugan party-list Rep. Mike Defensor.

Bago natapos ang sesyon ng Kamara kahapon ay muling nagpatupad ng rigodon sa liderato ni Velasco kung saan unang inalis bilang vice chairman ng House committee on legislative franchises si Defensor.

Ipinalit sa kanya si Zamboanga Sibugay Congressman Wilter “Sharky” Palma II na tinanggal naman bilang deputy majority leader.

Noong Enero, tinanggal ni Velasco si Defensor bilang chairman ng House committee on public accounts at maging sa vice chairmanship nito sa committee on Health, Good Government and Public Accountability, Dangerous Drugs, Public Information, at Strategic Intelligence committee.

Dahil dito, tanging ang vice chairmanship na lamang sa committee on welfare of children ang natitirang posisyon ni Defensor na kilalang kaalyado ni dating House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano.

Hindi pa nagbibigay ng komento si Defensor sa pagtanggal sa kanyang posisyon sa nasabing komite subalit noong Enero ay sinabi nito na hindi ito indikasyon na hindi na nito magagampanan ang kanyang trabaho.

“Titles, names, and positions do not define us and the service we render for the people. He may be Speaker but he lacks the proper leadership. He may be Lord but he lacks the wisdom and good judgement to determine the right path of the House. Instead of uniting the House, he further divides it,” ayon sa statement ni Defensor noong Enero.
