NAKATAKDANG sumabak ang Philippine men and women beach volleyball teams sa Olympic qualifying tournament na Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Continental Cup sa Thailand.
Ang dalawang araw na kompetisyon ay isasagawa simula sa Biyernes sa probinsiya ng Nakhon Pathom.
“We are hoping for a strong finish for our men and women beach volleyball teams in this Olympic qualifier,” sabi ni Philippine National Volleball Federation president Ramon “Tats” Suzara.
“Our athletes are adequately prepared for the competition, having set up a training camp in Pagudpud since last month,” dagdag niya.
Ito ang unang international tournament ng national volley teams sapul noong 2019 Southeast Asian Games at una sa ilalim ng bagong tatag na PNVF.
Mayroong dalawang team sa women beach volley sa AVC ang Pilipinas, Sisi Rondina at Bernadeth Pons, at Dij Rodriguez at Babylove Barbon. Sina Mer Jauculan at Gen Eslapor naman ang reserve players.
Dalawang team din sa men’s – Jaron Requinton at James Buytrago, at Jude Garcia at Anthony Arbasto. Reserve players naman sina Ranran Abdilla at Philip Bagalay. (ANN ENCARNACION)
