SA gitna ng paninindigan ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa paggamit ng face shield ‘indoor man o outdoor’, duda si Senate President Vicente ‘Tito’ Sotto III sa mga sinasabi umano ng mga eksperto sa buting dulot nito.
Sinabi ni Sotto na wala pa rin siyang nakikitang anomang ebidensya na magpapatunay ng pagiging epektibo ng paggamit ng face shield laban sa COVID-19 virus.
“Health Experts? They have not submitted evidences. It’s all talk! Now I want to believe the LGU reports saying the handling of the pandemic is not good at all,” diin ni Sotto.
Maging si Senador Koko Pimentel ay nagpahayag ng pagtataka sa sinasabing payo ng mga eksperto.
“As far as I know, PH is the only country in the world requiring the use of both face mask and face shield, requiring face shield use even outdoors where the heat and the wind can easily disable the COVID-19 virus. Hence our “experts” advising the government must know something that the experts in other countries do not know,” diin ni Pimentel.
Iginiit ni Pimentel na dapat ang ipaliwanag ng gobyerno sa taumbayan kung bakit kinakailangan ang paggamit ng face shield na batay sa science at mga ebidensya.
“Let us not allow the face shield to be just another requirement to be used to regulate behavior under pain of penalty for not following requirements. Government should explain the science behind this decision as best as it could,” diin ni Pimentel. (DANG SAMSON-GARCIA)
