IKINUKUNSIDERA ng liderato ng Senado na suspindihin ang kanilang plenary sessions sa gitna ng pagpapatupad muli ng enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) sa Metro Manila mula August 6 hanggang 20.

Ayon kay Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri, posibleng hindi sila magsagawa ng sesyon mula August 9 hanggang 11.

“Sessions pa rin kami (next week) pero baka mag-suspend kami nang Aug. 9-11,” pahayag ni Zubiri sa mensahe sa Senate Reporters.

Sinabi naman ni Senate President Vicente Sotto III na magdedesisyon pa sila sa susunod na linggo.

“We will have sessions next week then we will decide therefter,” diin ni Sotto.

Samantala, suportado naman ni Senador Panfilo Lacson ang desisyon ng gobyerno na isailalim uli ang National Capital Region (NCR) sa ECQ.

“Health comes first. The Delta variant is here and it’s spread could mean thousands of lives lost before we even realize it,” diin ni Lacson.’

“While the country’s economy will surely take another round of beating, we should all support this move by the national government,” dagdag pa ng senador. (DANG SAMSON-GARCIA)
