NATUNTON ng mga tauhan ng 84th Infantry Battalion ng Joint Task Force Kaugnay ang mga baril at iba pang war materiel sa Brgy. Lipuga, Alfonso Castañeda, Nueva Vizcaya matapos na ituro ng mga residente ang arms cache ng communist terrorist group noong Lunes ng hapon.
Ayon kay Northern Luzon Command’s (NoLCom), Acting Commander Maj. Gen. Andrew Costelo, nakatanggap ng intelligence information ang kanyang mga tauhan hinggil sa pinagtataguan ng mga sandata ng CPP-NPA.
Ayon sa ulat na isinumite ni 84th Infantry Battalion, commanding officer Lt. Col. Enrico Gil Ileto, nakuha nila ang dalawang Bushmaster M16 rifle, isang Colt M16 rifle, six hundred fourteen rounds (614) Ctg. 5.56mm ball, twenty-one rounds (21) Ctg. 7.62mm ball, eleven (11) long 5.56mm magazine assembly (steel), eight (8) short 5.56mm magazine assembly (steel), at tatlong (3) Bandolier.
“The recovered firearms and war materiel will be brought to Headquarters 84IB in San Jose City, Nueva Ecija for proper documentation and disposition,” pahayag ni Lt. Col. Ileto.
Pinapurihan naman ni Col. Joseph Norwin Pasamonte, commander ng 703rd Infantry Brigade, ang mabilis na pagkilos ng 84IB sa pangunguna ni Lt. Col. Ileto, sa impormasyong nakalap mula sa komunidad.
“I commend the 84IB for their recent accomplishment and may we continue to intensify our efforts in our campaign against terrorism,” ani Col. Pasamonte.
Kaugnay nito, nanawagan si JTF Kaugnay Commander at NoLCom’s Acting Commander Maj. Gen. Costelo sa local government units, sa stakeholders, at mga lokal na residente na ipagpatuloy ang pagsuporta sa kanilang kampanya para wakasan ang local communist armed conflict.
“I am positive that it will only be a matter of time before we decimate all remnants of Communist terrorist groups in our area of operations, and with the support of the peace-loving populace of North and Central Luzon, we are optimistic that our gains against the CTGs will continue to swell,” ani Maj. Gen. Costelo.
“With the successive discovery of Communist terrorists’ arms cache, we continue to dissolve the arms capability of the communist terrorists as they are now pushed to a corner with no choice but to flee or take the peaceful route and surrender to the government,” dagdag pa nito. (JESSE KABEL)
