Mandaluyong City. On Monday 14 March 2022, PCSO Assistant General Managers Dr. Larry R. Cedro of the Gaming Sector, Ms. Remeliza Jovita M. Gabuyo of the Administrative Sector, Atty. Lauro A. Patiag of the Branch Operations Sector, Julieta F. Aseo of the Charity Sector and Mr. Arnel N. Casas of the Management Services Sector led the regular flag honoring ceremony at the back of Conservatory Building, Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong City.
In relation to the celebration of the National Womens Month, Hon. Judge Rhoda Magdalene L. Mapile – Osinada was PCSO’s 2nd honoree who is a graduate of B.A. Political Science from University of Santo Tomas (UST) and received her law degree in Manuel Luis Quezon University College of Law in 1998. An affiliate of Philippine Judges Association assigned in Malabon Regional Trial Court, also a member of Philippine Women Judges Association and an advocate of Gender and Development (GAD), shared words of encouragement that affirms a woman’s worth, dignity and importance to the society and how a woman become an effective catalyst of change to detriment.
According to her, “Feminism is not about making all women strong because women are already strong. It’s just a matter of how the world see that kind of strength.” This harmonizes the definition of women empowerment under the Republic Act 9710 or much known as the “Magna Carta for Women” – which pertains to a comprehensive human rights law for women that seeks to eliminate discrimination to the recognition, protection, fulfillment and promotion of the rights of Filipino women most specially in the marginalized sector of the society. She said, “Its everyone’s responsibility to treat every woman with outmost respect & honor regardless of her status in life.” Seeing and alleviating what women can do and given equal treatment wherever she is.
Judge Mapile – Osinada also recognized and salute the muscle women of PCSO as they give life to the agency’s core values of Professionalism, Integrity, Compassion and Transparency, referring to PCSO Vice-Chairperson and General Manager Royina Marzan Garma, DM Agnes S. Ibera, distinguished officers and most specially the employees of PCSO which serve as the vital cog for the quality and effective output of the organization that aims to generate fund for health programs and medical assistance given by the agency to the public.
One of the highlights of the event is the awarding of plaque of appreciation and token to Judge Mapile – Osinada which was given by Atty. Lauro A. Patiag of the Branch Operations Sector.
The flag honoring was led by the Charity Assistance Department.
