NAGLULUKSA ang Mababang Kapulungan ng Kongreso sa pagpanaw ng isa sa kanilang mga miyembro na si Palawan First District Congressman Edgardo “Egay” Salvame.

Agad na inilagay sa half-mast ang bandila ng Pilipinas sa harap ng main building ng Batasan Pambansa bilang pakikidalamhati sa pagpanaw ni Salvame.

“I am deeply saddened to hear the news of the passing of our colleague and friend, Palawan 1st District Rep. Edgardo “Egay” Salvame. It is a personal loss for me and a huge loss for our community and the nation,” ani House Speaker Martin Romualdez.

Bago ito ay inanunsyo sa official Facebook account ng mambabatas ang kanyang pagpanaw kahapon ng umaga subalit hindi binanggit ang dahilan.

“On behalf of the Salvame family, we are saddened to announce the unexpected passing of our beloved Congressman, Manong Edgardo “Egay” Villagracia Lim Salvame, this early morning, March 13,” ayon sa anunsyo sa Facebook account ng mambabatas.

“Brother Egay lived a life of purpose and adventures. Grew up on the island, strived to succeed in life, until called by destiny to serve our nation. In the short time that he was our Congressman, he tried to do his best to bring light, help, change, love and care to every Palawian he swore to help. He is making sure to start his promised programs for the nation,” ayon pa sa FB post.

Noong Oktubre 12, 2023 ay pumanaw naman ang kinatawan ng ikatlong Distrito ng Palawan na si Rep. Edward Hagedorn.
