SIMULA sa Hunyo 2 ay tatanggapin na sa 92 Mercury Drug outlets sa iba’t ibang rehiyon ang guarantee letters (GLs) ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) bilang Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) ng ahensya at Ayuda para sa Kapos ang Kita Program (AKAP).

“We are very pleased to share this good news to our kababayans. This is part of our continuing efforts to help our clients in availing their medicine requirements, in partnership with the Mercury Drug Corporation. Pwede po nilang gamitin itong GL sa pagbili ng kanilang mga maintenance medicines,” ang sinabi ni DSWD Assistant Secretary Irene Dumlao.

Ang guarantee letter ay isang dokumento na ipinalalabas ng DSWD para sa mga benepisyaryo. Naka-address ito sa mga service provider na naggagarantiya sa kabayaran ng serbisyo sa ngalan ng kliyente kabilang na ang medisina.

Tatanggapin ng 92 Mercury Drugstores ang GLs na ipalalabas ng DSWD Central Office and Field Offices in the National Capital Region (NCR), Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Western Visayas, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Davao Region, Soccsksargen, at Caraga Region.

“Our Field Offices in Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, Bicol Region, and the Cordillera Administrative Region are still finalizing their agreements with Mercury Drug, but rest assured that these FOs will fast-track their discussions for the best interest of our clients,” ani Dumlao.

Nagsimula ang ‘partnership’ ng DSWD-Mercury Drug noong November 2024.

Ang pagpapatupad sa June 2, 2025 ay tanda ng patuloy na pagtutulungan ng mga ito.

Ang mga Mercury Drug Store branches na tatanggap ng DSWD-issued GLs mula sa Central Office ay ang Fairview– Commonwealth; Ever Gotesco Commonwealth; Tandang Sora–Visayas; Marikina-J.P. Rizal; Caloocan Monumento; Caloocan City Deparo; San Mateo General Luna; at Pasay City Bluebay Walk.

Ang DSWD-issued GLs mula sa DSWD Field Office-NCR ay tatanggapin naman ng mga sangay ng Mercury Drug Store na matatagpuan sa Quiapo- Plaza Miranda; Sampaloc-Earnshaw; Sampaloc-Legarda; Kalookan-Plaza; Baclaran-Airport; at Armal Center Pasig.

Maglalagay naman ang mga Mercury Drugstores ng signage na “DSWD Guarantee Letter is accepted here” upang gabayan ang mga kliyente.

Maaari namang kontakin ng AICS clients o bisitahin ang anomang DSWD Field Office sa kanilang ‘area of residence’ para sa kumpletong listahan ng Mercury Drug Stores na tumatanggap ng agency-issued GLs.

Samantala, ang AICS ay isa sa social protection programs ng DSWD na nagbibigay ng financial assistance sa anyo ng ‘medical, funeral, transportation, food, at cash relief assistance, kabilang na ang material assistance, psychosocial support at referral services sa mga indibidwal na nasa krisis, base sa pagsusuri ng social workers.

Ang AKAP sa kabilang dako, ay social assistance na nagbibigay ng direktang financial assistance sa mga indibidwal na apektado ng inflation kung saan ang kinikita ay mababa sa minimum wage na itinakda ng Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board.
