MALABON CITY – Malabon City Administrator Dr. Alexander Rosete was recently honored by the De La Salle Araneta University (DLSAU) Alumni Association, Inc. – Graduate School Alumni Chapter for his dedication and commitment to research in pursuit of excellence in public service.
Dr. Rosete was recognized as the Outstanding Alumnus in the Research Sector at the DLSAU Grand Alumni Homecoming, themed DLSAU@79: Aspire to Greatness, which took place on January 25, 2024, at the Institutional Activity Center, DLSAU, in Malabon.
In 2024, the DLSAU also recognized Dr. Rosete with Outstanding Alumnus in the Government Sector award.
This prestigious award highlights alumni who have made significant contributions to their fields through research, helping to shape a brighter future for all.
“Research should not be limited in the academic area. Research is a powerful tool that informs decision-making shapes policies, and drives innovation. As Lasallians, let us continue to strive and be a beacon of light that lets the world know that the field of research illuminates solutions to complex social hurdles and enhance our public engagements and services and that it is, after all a cornerstone of nation-building,” said Dr.
Rosete.
Dr. Rosete has conducted various studies in public housing, urban settlement, sustainable development, human resources, customer service, media literacy, process improvement, and innovation. His work has been instrumental in implementing various programs that benefit the people of Malabon.
His efforts led to the creation of the City Housing and Urban Development Department (CHUDD) in July 2023, which aims to provide quality and secure homes for Malabon residents in line with Mayor Jeannie Sandoval’s vision for improved housing programs
As of January 2025, CHUDD has issued Certificates of Entitlement for Lot Allocation (CELA) to 478 families, enabling them to own the land where their homes are situated.
Additionally, the city has completed 50% of the Libertad 1 mid-rise housing project (Building 😎 in Barangay Tinajeros, which will soon provide 88 housing units for residents. The city also plans to break ground on three more housing projects in 2025.
Dr. Rosete’s work also extends to tackling misinformation. Through his research in media and information literacy, he has developed initiatives to effectively utilize social media and other platforms to keep Malabon residents informed and engaged.
This led to the launch of the Command and Communication Center and Malabon TV, both of which provide real-time updates on various situations, weather reports, and city programs, bringing essential information directly to the community.
In addition, the city has launched several digital applications to improve accessibility to services, including the Malabon Tourism XP app, which showcases the city’s history, culture, and products; the Electronic Business One Stop Shop for online tax payments; the Intelligent Tutoring System for personalized student learning; and Let’s Connect TXTMJS, which facilitates direct communication between residents and local government departments.
Dr. Rosete shared that the city government, through the leadership of Mayor Jeannie Sandoval, is committed to the continuous improvement of service delivery for all the Malabuenos.
“Bilang isang lingkod bayan, layunin natin na mas mapabuti pa ang pagbibigay ng serbisyo sa ating mga kababayan. Upang ating masiguro na tama at naayon sa pangangailangan ang ating nasisasagawang mga programa, mahalaga ang pagsasagawa ng pag-aaral, ng research dahil ito ang tutulong upang mas maunawaan natin ang ating responsibilidad at magawa ang ating serbisyo ng tama at dekalidad. Naniniwala po tayo na upang maging epektibong lingkod bayan, dapat ay patuloy tayo sa pag-aaral, pagkatuto, pag-usisa, at pagsiguro ng mga serbisyo para sa ating mga kababayan. Sa pangunguna po ng ating butihing Mayor Jeannie Sandoval, ako po at ang buong lokal na pamahalaan ng Malabon ay hindi titigil sa pagsiguro ng patuloy na pag-unlad ng ating lungsod para sa lahat,” said Dr. Rosete.
